MEET OUR STAFF

Our clinicians specialize in working with military, first responders, and their families, and offer in-person and telehealth services. We pull from a variety of evidence-based models, such as Emotionally Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and have been trained to provide Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), a specific treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Meet Melissa Austin, LSCSW

My family and I have called Southeast Kansas home since 1989. In 1994 I graduated from Pittsburg State with a bachelor’s in social work. After working in medical social work for several years I earned my master’s in social work from KU, then began working as a therapist at Crawford County Mental Health. As a veteran myself, as well as a wife and mother of veteran(s), and wife of a law enforcement officer, creating a safe environment to work through the unique stressors of this lifestyle is of the utmost importance to me. It would be my honor to be here for you along your journey.
