MEET OUR STAFF

Our clinicians specialize in working with military, first responders, and their families, and offer in-person and telehealth services. We pull from a variety of evidence-based models, such as Emotionally Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and have been trained to provide Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), a specific treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Meet Jackie Raio, LMSW

E. Jackie Raio is originally from Brooklyn, NY and moved to Kansas from California after she was honorably discharged from the military in 2011. A U.S. Navy Veteran, she graduated from Pittsburg State University in 2013 with a B.S in Social Work and in 2018 with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Kansas. Much of her focus is in the Military community as she has always striven to give back to the community that helped her become who she is today. Working briefly in the Mental Health and the child welfare field she has come full circle in her ability to help those in need. She started working with the Senior Living community in 2015 and slowly worked her way up from the Medical Records Clerk, to the Social Service Director, and now as the Director of Admissions at Via Christi Village in Pittsburg. She has helped thousands of residents and families in need transition home from Skilled Nursing with the resources needed in the seven years she has worked at Via Christi Village.

Meet Melissa Austin, LSCSW

My family and I have called Southeast Kansas home since 1989. In 1994 I graduated from Pittsburg State with a bachelor’s in social work. After working in medical social work for several years I earned my master’s in social work from KU, then began working as a therapist at Crawford County Mental Health. As a veteran myself, as well as a wife and mother of veteran(s), and wife of a law enforcement officer creating a safe environment to work through the unique stressors of this lifestyle is of the utmost importance to me. It would be my honor to be here for you along your journey.
